The Club's summer weekend event near Stratford upon Avon
We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Gordon-Keeble Owners’ Club Weekend. It will take place from Friday 15th - Sunday 17th May and will, of course, include our club AGM.
To take part please email Nick and Zoe Hill (zoenick55@gmail.com) with confirmation at your earliest convenience as it may still be possible, despite the expiry of the previous cut-off date, for additional attendees to be added and pay a deposit of £75 per person to the Club.
Our accommodation for the event is at The Charlecote Pheasant Hotel CV35 9EW, near Stratford upon Avon, for 2 nights bed and breakfast and our annual Club Dinner on Saturday night. The hotel has agreed to set aside an area in their car park for our exclusive use.
We plan to meet at the café at the Midland Air Museum CV3 4FR near Coventry Airport at Friday lunchtime and we have arranged a private tour of the museum for the afternoon. It is then a 20 minute drive to the Hotel. Nothing has yet been arranged for Friday evening; we are investigating pubs and Indian restaurants in the nearby village which is a short taxi ride away, or alternatively the hotel will obviously be happy to provide food.
On Saturday after breakfast, there will be a drive of about 20 minutes to visit the British Motor Museum at Gaydon. We have organised private tours of both the museum and the Collections Centre - these tours are scheduled for about 45 minutes each but apparently can take longer if the guide starts chatting to an enthusiastic audience!
The rest of the day could either be spent investigating the museum, or perhaps visiting the interesting town of Stratford upon Avon. Otherwise, there are several houses and gardens in the area. The club’s AGM will be held at 17.30 at the hotel, followed a little later in the evening by our annual Club Dinner.
On Sunday morning after breakfast, we would suggest a visit to Charlecote House and Park which is just over the road from the Hotel, and perhaps lunch in the café there for those who are not rushing home. As this is a National Trust property, we have not included the entrance fee in the package, as we know that many people are members of NT.
The approximate cost for the weekend - including entrance and tour fees - is £380 for a double room and £280 for a single. If you only want to come to part of the event, then please let Nick know and we can let you have a revised estimate.
To take part could you please let Nick and Zoe know as soon as possible, as they must confirm numbers to the hotel, and pay a deposit of £75 per person to the Club’s bank account (details of the account are available from the Club Secretary on request). Please use your name and 'AGM' as a reference for bank payments.
